Week #8 -Assignment #1: Self edit the draft of your "War" essay.
A. Self edit by reading your essay from the last sentence to the first. This practice enables you to catch errors in Grammar/Usage/Mechanics. What did you discover? Explain.
B. . Take a look at the formatting. Did you follow MLA
guideliines?
Sample Essay:
. Check
for:
- Double
spacing throughout the entire paper
- A header
that uses your last name only and numbers all pages.
- Consistent
font - no bold, no italics, no shift in size
- Identifying
information on the left side of page #1 you have your name, my name
(Professor Eaton), name of our course (English 101), and today's date or
the date when you finished. (8 March 2019)
- A centered
title
- Indented
paragraphs
What did you need to change?
C. Now here comes the fun part. You need to look for your
"borrowed" information and include the in-text citations. Remember,
if you borrow ideas, even if you put those ideas into your own words, you MUST
give credit to the original source.
D. Cross check your Works Cited page
- Is the title - Works Cited - centered?
- Are the entries in alphabetical order according to the author's last names or the titles of the articles/sources should an author not be available?
- Do you
have hanging indents? (If you use EasyBib, the program will do this for
you.)
- Is the
Works Cited page on its own page? Is there a header and the page number included?
Answer 1-4. Explain what, if anything, you need to change.
E. . In a
sentence or two, explain how you organized your essay.
F. . In a sentence or two, explain what was the most difficult
part of writing this essay. What were the challenges?

Week #8 - Assignment #3 - Discussion Board
Select what you consider to be the most important or best paragraph or two of your War essay. Post the section. Explain what you liked about the section or why the information is important.
In your two responses to others, praise and/or ask questions. Share your thoughts.
Post your original by 6:00 am on Thursday. Post the two responses by midnight on Friday, March 6, 2020. I realize that this is a shorter time frame. Plan accordingly.
